Introduction to a new series: Letters from the Heart (Book of James)

We begin a new series on James, the epistle written by James, the earthly brother of Jesus, who grew up with our Lord. We know from John 7.5 that Jesus' brothers did not believe in him at first, and probably believed only after he died and rose from the dead. The letter was written around 45-50 AD, addressing believers facing persecution and various issues of their faith. He insists that faith should be seen in practice, not just expressed in words, a message still needed today.
